About integrity and passing the Kingdom of Money
GRR Martin alredy recommended this book judging it hard to tell what it is about. The author follows a number of people whose lives intersect at a five star hotel in the wilderness. But this is just a meaningful crossroads in an intricate tale spanning several decades, half a dozen protagonists, a billion dollar crime leaving a trail of disaster in its wake, and people struggling for survival, for identity, for dignity and for purpose. One question that connects everything is "what are you willing to do for success"? And while St John Mandel does not refrain from judging she never gives simple answers. A joy to read - meaningful and deeply impressive.

Sehr gute Geschichte
Habe das Audiobuch von "The Glass Hotel" sehr genossen, außer, dass die Leserin leider ein ganz bisschen zu sehr "on the edge" ist für meinen Geschmack. Konnte nicht gut "entspannen" beim Lesen sondern war immer sehr bewusst, dass mir da jemand gerade vorliest. (Lassen Sie sich nicht "Station Eleven", gelesen von Kirsten Potter, entgehen: Ein Schmaus für Kopf und Ohren, Frau Potter ist eine wahre Stimmkünstlerin) Zu "The Glass Hotel" - die Geschichte ist, ähnlich wie Station Eleven, in verschiedenen zeitlichen Ebenen konstruiert, und nach und nach wird das Puzzle zusammengestellt. Sehr erfüllend, wie alles zusammen kommt. Die Sprache von Mandel, hervorragend.

Entertaining
but also a little hard to pin point what the story actually is. Perhaps that's the point. The Narrator is a little much at times and really annoying doing american women, but bearable in general
